Faruk Kalaycı

Born in İstanbul, 2000, Faruk Kalaycı started his piano education at the age of 6 as a student of Eser Bilgeman Şakir in the İstanbul University State Conservatoire. After continuing at this certificate program for 5 years, due to the success he has shown in 2011 he was accepted to the İ.Ü.D.K. Music and Bale school of the same institution. At year 2014 he has performed as a soloists with the İ.Ü.D.K. Symphony Orchestra Mozart’s KV488 A Major Piano concerto and at 2015 J.S. Bach’s D Minor Piano concerto. These concerts that took place in CKM brought the young pianist great success. In the 2015 ‘Young Soloist’ auditions of Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra he gained the right to play with them and has been awarded same place of the first ‘Young Soloist Competition’ award made by the same orchestra at 2016. At 2017 he has played Tchaikovsky 1st Concerto with the İ.Ü.D.K. Orchestra. Again at 2017 at the 12th Pera Piano Competition he has been awarded 1st place of his age category alongside the award for best interpreter of a Turkish composer and the prestigious ‘Grand Prix’. Kalaycı has graduated from the İ.Ü.D.K at 2018 with the highest distinction. Since then he continues his education at the P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow with Ruvim Ostrovy. His first single “F. Liszt – Ballade no.2” has been published on all platforms with the A.K Müzik cable. Most recently Kalaycı has performed F. Chopin’s 2nd piano concerto with the CRR Youth Chamber Orchestra.
